	I assumed dormancy in JI's was similar to dormancy in spurias in
which case the leaves die back to ground level and you don't know if
there is a plant in that spot until fall when new growth appears.  I
guess my JI's go into a suspended state, but they never have a 'die back' 
dormancy like suprias.
