Hi All,
The irises are just starting to bloom ESP the SDB's and we received 2" of
rain yesterday. They say rain will end Wed. I am almost tempted to go out
and cover the buds to protect them.
I too have heard that dear will eat irises. Guess we have just been lucky
as we do not have a fenced in area and the dear walk through the irises
beds. I will say, the gophers have eaten some of the irise roots and have
caused lots of damage to one certain iris bed. I think I will try a few
wind mills stuck in the ground on metal post. I hear that works to keep
them away. The gophers that is.
