I have just dug an area that will become a raised bed, raised above the
clay type soil here, and will be getting ready for iris, among other
plants. I'd like to plant a variety of types, sizes, and colors. What I
would like to know is what I need to do to prepare for the iris, I don't
think anything special other than following good gardening practices. I'd
also like to hear some suggestions for this area, Loudoun County, VA, about
25 miles out of DC. Closest I can figure is the USDA zone is 6 or 7.
