Mesmerizer Color

My first bloom stalks of Mesmerizer were definitely white -- that was a
couple of weeks ago. Then, early last week another stalk had a bud that had
a lavender tinge at the base. When it opened, the entire bloom had a very,
very light lavender tinge, but the spoons were very definitely lavender. Is
this normal? If not, what could have caused it?
