Re: CULT: deformed irises

We also have an unidentified MTB (I now think it could be Joseph's Coat
displaying some abnormal form for some reason) that wants to lay all of its
standards flat.  The first few years I saw it, I didn't know what it was;
basically it is a variagata but is marked with purple and white on some
flowers. This is the first year I have seen it with its standards up at
all; with standards up it is clearly an older MTB...it does have purple leaf
bases. Anyone out there grow Joseph's Coat, or have any comment on this
plant? Two years before this year all the petals were laid down flat. It
has been growing unidentified in my husband's grandfather's yard for at
least 25 years.
