Cult: Bloom Report in Ottawa (z4)
From: Sandy Ives <rives@home.com>
First bloom other than reticulata: I. bucharica around April 29th
First bloom MDB: Compact Buddy - May 3rd
First bloom SDB: Thrice Blessed - May 5th
First bloom Aril: Green Eyed Sheba - May 3rd
Some strong spikes on Sunray Reflection, but it is still at least 10 days away.
I'm guessing that we are at least a week early now. The tulips are in full
bloom and the late narcissus are starting up. It has been one of the driest
Aprils on record (20mm) and it has been quite warm for the last two weeks.
Could it be another year without a show due to lack of bloom?
Regards,
Sandy Ives (who has heard a rumour that the Millennium Falcon has been sighted
in Oklahoma!)
