SPEC:CULT: I. tectorum in Bloom

From: HIPSource@aol.com

Greetings,

The white iris tectorums are blooming here in the little back border in front
of the brick wall. I'm happy to see them this year since I had to lift them
last fall--not the best time--to fork up that border, which was fostering
fungi. Anyway, they are in full bloom now along with their companions, a blue
hosta, the white bleeding hearts, and a fragrant amber and pink Gloire de
Dijon rose on the wall. The golden hues of the latter pick up the yellow
touches in the throat of the irises and it is attractive. There are a couple
of ferns there, too, and a pumonaria or two, which are looking especially
fine this year.
