DANG!! I was so excited to hear you were playing with
BLAST that I didn't want to jinx you by telling you of
my experiences with BLAST. It is about THE MOST
infertile IB I have ever come across. I have been
trying to pollenate or find pollen on it for years.
One year I tore apart every flower (about 30 of them)
and tried every trick in the book to make it set a
pod. After all that, I only got one pod with nine
seeds and that was with AUTUMN MAPLE pollen. I was
envisioning a reblooming SDB with the color and vigor
of BLAST. Unfortunately, I ran out of planting space
to plant the seeds so they never got planted that year
but I saved them and will be planting them this year.
Anyway, that's my BLAST story. Keep trying, it might
give you seeds or pollen someday.
By the way, can you post a description of Alene's
Other Love? I would be interested in a fertile
reblooming SDB. How is the flower form, color, growth
etc. Thanks in advance
