Here, most of the snakes in the garden are harmless, so I don't
bother them. The Black Racers and the Indigo snakes are beneficial, as
are the occasional Rat Snakes.
One day in February, I did encounter and kill a Rattler. When I
lived in Lexington, KY, I usually killed two or three Copperheads each
year.
