Last week the weather people called for three days of rain, -badly needed
here. One morning Zeus did some delicate spitting, - sunshine all the rest
of the time. But oh, so much better than hail or tornados! OO 74A-7-2 is
now out. Like most Space-Agers it is quite late. Four branches and terminal
with no crowding. Color white, with a row of blue marks high on the haft,
red beards, and long, white spoons. Many other great moments after a dearth
of them the first two weeks of tall season. A huge pink with huge pink
flounces really hit me in the stomach, so to speak. Left me breathless
sounds better. A few whites or pastels with really blue (not violet)
beards. The latest is a border iris with white-white petals and blue-blue
beards. ur Region 4 Meeting is a week from tonight and tomorrow in
Winchester, VA A panel of hybridizers will hold forth, and I am doing the
Space-Agers., Doubt if there will be anything live to take, but hopefully
some good slides. Raining all day today. The talls are well past peak.
Greetings to you all from the middle of North Carolina. Lloyd Zurbrigg in
Durham.
