Hi guys -
I know we've been chatting about this but I missed a lot of it since my
hubby was in the hospital.
What causes the mutant blooms? I didn't have any until the last week or so
and now, all the sudden, I have an abundance of blooms that are missing
standards, or ones that have 2 standards and 2 falls or 3 falls and 1
standard. Now today, I go out and look at the last blooms on WABASH and it
has 3 standards and 3 falls but one of the fall petals is half white and half
purple. I couldn't have cut it any better!! It's perfectly split down the
center with white on one side and purple on the other. I don't mean to make
that sound like it's in 2 pieces, it's just half and half. Very strange.
Any ideas on what happened? I haven't used anything like Round-Up. The only
thing I used was Safer's Insecticidal Soap and that was about 2 weeks ago. It
didn't seem to bother any of the earlier blooms.
I need to get some pictures of these things.
