I have a few varieties of TB growing, but unfortunately am not sure what
their names are. My interest was aroused when I visited a small iris farm
recently here in Kansas City. I was amazed at all of the colors and
combinations! My favorite one they had was called Star Wars. It had light
purple standards and falls with deep purple beards. From about 10 feet away
it looked electric. I am considering going back to purchase a few plants
later this summer after the bloom season. I would like to learn more about
how the hybridizing occurs, the naming procedures for new hybrids, etc. I
am sure I will learn much as emails are posted. They had Japanese Iris
blooming and I was very attracted to those as well. One of my biggest
questions I have is if I grow two different cultivars in nearby beds, will
they cross pollinate and will I loose my original cultivars in time?
