I've notice the same phenomenon. If you ignore the suggestions of one
particular neighbor who has an affinity for puns, the vast majority of
names that my garden visitors have suggested involve food. Most of them
already taken, of course.
My theory is that irisarians just don't take the time to eat during bloom
season.
