I have a mislabeled TB in my garden that I would really like
to begin the process of putting a name on. Yes, I know
that ID is not easy from descriptions or photos, I am just looking for
possibilities.
What was sent to me as SPICED ORANGE has lavender flowers.
The standards are slightly darker lavender than the falls, and the falls
become lighter near the center. The lavender is darker than MARY FRANCES,
but not as dark as GRAND WALTZ. The beard is a blazing tangerine red,
and stands out like a beacon. The flower has medium ruffling and is very
lightly laced. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Normally, mislabeled
plants meet the spade and compost pile, but this one is nice and rather distinct.
