The other thing that has been talked about on the list as being very long
lasting is what is called a "Paint Marker" that can be found at Wal Mart and
art supply stores, though I have no first hand experience with them.
I use a vinyl coated paper and print them on my laser printer. The thermal
bonding is essentially permanent and the labels last years. (3 so far)
