REB: hardy and reliable rebloomers

This is the first year that we have had good rebloom. Not only that but
these cultivars have been sending up stalks and reblooming even after hard
frosts. I think that we've had three hard frosts and a half dozen light
frosts so far. It may be more because we've been out of town a lot this
month.

Champagne Encore and Precious Little Pink have been amazing. These IBs send
up rebloom stalks about end of July and just keep going until the frost
finally gets them. In the past two years, they have succumbed after the
first hard frost. This year, they are still going with perfect blooms.
There are still a few buds that will make it through this weekend as it is
expected to stay above freezing for the next few days.

Another one that deserves mention is Rosalie Figge. The TB, like its
namesake, just keeps getting better. Lots of rebloom loaded with buds.
Many of the new buds have been blasted now but there are a couple of blooms
left to go.

Forever Blue has also survived the frosts to rebloom but rebloom has not
been vigorous for us yet.

Newly planted SDBs that bloomed after two hard frosts are Giggler, Royal
Maroon and Pretty Girl. Pretty Girl just bloomed today but the petals were
damaged by last night's cold rain.

This is the first year that we've had rebloom go past the first hard frost.
But then, we haven't had any snow yet (knock on wood). Anyone else
experience this?
