I would like to add a qualifier on this. It does NOT work on mums. They
would smother in such a deep mulch. As stated, I've not tried this on young
iris seedlings that have just sprouted.
How about a cold frame? I've found them a bit tedious to maintain, and they
wouldn't work for me now with the 8-5 job, but someone with other situations
might find them advantageous.
