Dear Iris-talk friends:
Luella Danielson's son, Floyd, died today after a very short illness.
He was taken to the hospital a week ago today, slipped into a coma and never
regained consciousness. The diagnosis was a staph infection. . .
To all of you who know Luella and would care to send words of sympathy
and comfort, please send your condolences to me and I will print them out and
give them to Luella - she doesn't have a computer. If you would rather, send
them directly to her home via snail mail. Her address is 425 E. Luna Azul,
Chaparral, NM 88021.
Luella had an auto accident a month ago. . head on. Fortunately the
speed wasn't great and she sustained only a minor (but painful) neck injury.
She's pretty much back to normal, digging, planting and planning.
To quote Luella, "Floyd was not only my right hand, he was my left
hand too."
We have become close friends. I visit her often and help as she will
allow me to help her. I remind her every chance I get that she's a "damn
stubborn old heifer" and she just laughs and plants a kiss on my forehead.
