Robin, we all started out as beginners, and I doubt one of us missed
asking this same question.

The answer is simply, no. Iris genetics are very, very complex.
With some tightly imbred types many of the seedlings will resemble
the parent strongly, but with most varieties the astonishing
variation of forms, colors, and textures will give the greatest
delight. Some of them may depart from the parent's appearance quite
strongly.
