Searching for the LORETTA AARON arilbred.
Hi,
I'm trying to locate an arilbred that was hybridized by Cleo Palmer
in 1978 and released under the name LORETTA AARON. Loretta Aaron, for
whom the iris was named, is an inspirational gardener who has written
many gardening articles for newspapers and periodicals and over the
years was part of the iris growers lecture series. For those of you
who have know Loretta during the past 50 years, she is still growing
iris and enjoying life in OKC.
Unfortunately, the last remaining stock of LORETTA AARON arilbreds is
our immediate area froze out during the most sever winter in Oklahoma.
We would like to be able to locate the LORETTA AARON arilbred again
and reestablish stock, especially in time for the 2007 International
Iris Exhibition to be held here in Oklahoma City.
The following is a description of the iris we are searching for:
LORETTA AARON (Cleo Palmer, 1978). S pale lavender, veined deeper,
yellow midrib and base; F blend of brownish yellow with heavy overlay
of light red; brown beard. Tatai Pasha X Esther, the Queen.
If you know anyone having this iris in their collection will you
please ask them to contact me at lxhenry@home.com.
Thank you in advance.
