Perhaps the genetic basis of PBF is somewhat more complex than a
condition determined by a single gene. One might note that
anthocyanin pigment in the blossoms of tall beardeds is a dominant
but can be blocked by various inhibitors, also dominant. Perhaps a
similar interaction among disperate factors may be at work in PBF.
