John, the "its, it's" thing and the "stocks/stalks" thing do not bother me. Your grammar conveys the message. Certain usage seems to bother others without regard to the feelings of the author. It could be that the author of the post is new to our language or comes from a foreign country or is a first-generation American or is just plain nervous when making a post because he knows he has an audience of nearly 700. But, again the subject is iris and not "school."
