Blooming now

I have iris (2) blooming now that I planted in Aug. I believe they both
wintered in Los Banos, CA. I really don't understand why they are blooming
now? I was thinking more of March for this to happen? I am near the
Pacific ocean, USDA 9, AHS 2,3 & sunset 17. Can anyone explain what's
going on? These aren't rebloomers that I know of. They Witches wand &
one I'm not sure of. Help?
