Since a wise young lady said everything reblooms in California I thought I
would just highlight the best Rebloomers for me.
Double Shot (Sutton) first bloom 3 months after planting last year. This year
it started in March as one otthe earliest to bloom. Set bloom again in
May,suffered "Summer Bloom" ( 25-50 buds on5+ branched stalks) in July and
August but now back to normal blooms on normal stalks. Large blooms with
crisp pattern.
Red Polish (Craig 67) a gift clump from harold Peters last year I split into
onto six Rz's 4 of which bloomed by years end. One of the earliest to bloom
this year but didn't rebloom till late September. Currently has 24 different
bloom stalks amongst the six clumps. Color is a unique Greyish Reddish
something.
Cruise to Autumn (Lauer) One stalk in March followed by two more in April
which set pods very easily. Two more stalks in May set "Bee" pods. Color is
flowing yellows and oranges with a few blue highlights.
Grape Reprise (Moore) Late starter this first year in early May paused for a
week then went into bloom from June till now with a couple of stalks still in
bloom. I hope you growers in the SE try this one!
Coconut Ice (Blyth) Started early so crossed both ways with rebloomer Betty
Dunn
in April(all crosses took) Then got a bloom stalk in June and another in
July. No fall rebloom so this may have just been extended bloom but gives me
great hope for the seedlings.
Rasberry Frost (Sutton) Started VL in June but has kept pace with Double Shot
ever since.
Hakuna Matata AB (Cadd) Higher bud count ( 7 or More) on rebloom than first
bloom. Other reblooming AB's had a sronger Aril look but nowhere near the
number of buds.
Cathy Campi, Stockton Ca. Zone 9b still 168 days without rain.
