John
Give Perfect Couple another year. Occasionally it has rather loose form, but
mostly it is lovely and often reblooms.

> We had two inches of rain the weekend before last (well, that's a lot for
southern California); now the weather is in the 90's. Even Timescape wants
to rebloom now. The louisiana Garnet Storm Dancer is a disappointment: tiny
flowers. Most of my Byers things are in full bloom, particularly Stingray
(of course). The good news is, now that Perfect Couple bloomed I know where
I can plant at least one of my remaining new acquisitions. Nice stalk, but
lousy form. If I'm out of planting space, that one doesn't deserve to use
any. My wild SA plicata seeding is finally finished. I got a few pods,
mostly from Double Vision pollen. Should be some eye-catching babies, but I
need to mix in some height and bud count somewhere. Oh well, I saved the
pollen. I hope it keeps till spring for Laugh Lines, Decipher, and other
potential crosses.

increases are shooting out nicely. Should be a lovely clump next spring, or
would be if I didn't plan to cross just about every flower, and they are too
ruffled to get into without shredding them pretty badly. Maybe I could save
one stalk.
