One last thought - although it's much too small a sample to conclude
anything, the height data for those siblings are bimodal - no seedlings
were the average height (30 inches); 8 were 31 to 34 inches, 3 were 26
to 27 inches.

So I take back what I just said - 60% of the seedlings were taller than
the shorter parent.

Hmm.. I think I'll take my foot out of my mouth and go do something
else...
