I hadn't realized any of our iris friends were involved in the fires. Most
of the people I know are in the central valley or the bay area which weren't
affected. I was worried about my daughter and granddaughter who live 5 miles
from the Simi Valley fires. (In fact, we went shopping with them in Simi Valley
in early October.) Their only problem was having smoke and ash falling around
them causing breathing difficulties. It certainly was terrible to see
thousands of homes burned to the ground and to think that some of the fires were
deliberately set.
