Dear Charlotte,
I have made several iris buckets to transport my bloomstalks to the show
I started with a medium size plastic bucket
and short lengths of pvc pipe of several diameters. I drilled a hole near
the top of the bucket and a hole in one side of each pipe. The hole in the
pipe was positioned so that the top edge of the pipe would be a little above
the bucket rim.
I placed pipes all around the edge of the bucket. If you like, you can make
a second row and a third by using pvc glue and gluing more pipes to the first
row. In this way I can carry about ten irises in each bucket and they don't
get knocked around. Now I'm making a small one for border iris.
