Betty,
I have just been to a TBIS meeting where Tom Burseen talked about his
hyhibridizing program. According to him, a wide cross involves checking the
parentage of each iris in order to cross irises with different sets of parents
and grandparents.
Then, sometimes you want to cross the progeny back to a relative to increase a
particular quality.
