Depends on your climate. Older and more hardier TBs do extremely
well in this Zone 3 climate (as a rule after about 3 yrs.) but
Siberians vie for the WOW factor here. Many, if not most, bloom
taller than registered height and have flowers galore.
BUT around here, everybody (except for two of us), primarily
grow TBs not Sibs. but that is changing since my display garden
on the main route in town has plenty of all iris varieties. I do
not sell my irises but give them away when dividing usually in a
grab bag on my front lawn with the name and class with a paper
with the cultural requirements.
Folks read about TBs and generally get Schreiner's catalog as
their first iris cat. That's cool now that Schreiner's is
selling a few older Sibs. and has older Medians for sale.
*Altho', I think the Sibs and the Medians are overpriced in that
particular cat. Better off getting Sibs and Medians from
specialty growers of those classes. Better prices and also
'much' better selection.*
