Christy  --  Thanks for supplying these urls.  Very informative!  Also
thanks to all who have contributed their own knowledge and experiences.

I would add just this:  The leafcutter bee can give a heck of a sting.  I
once fired several arrows into a target I'd set up on a creek bank --  and
into an unseen nest of leafcutter bees.  One stung me on the temple, and the
impact knocked me down.
