Michelle  --  I've heard or read  --  and I can't remember where  --  that
the pod parent is more likely to determine the seedling's form, i.e,
branching, height, etc.  I can't offer any evidence for that, but when
making crosses I keep it in mind, especially if I am making a cross between
an older cultivar and a newer one.  I'll try to make the newer one the pod
parent.  If I ever find the time, it would be interesting to see if my
seedlings, over the years, have showed any patterns of results.  --  Griff
