Visually Taj Majal is white with some veining and very faint shading around the beard and deep in the throat. there is the smallest hint of brown (yellow) mixed in with that. But this pigmentation makes it a blue genetically. So when one crosses it with a pure white such as Kupari that has no pigments except a dab of yellow in the beard some or all will be blues. All of seedlings I got from this cross were blue selfs and remarkably uniform in blue color. Apparently Taj Majal does not carry a white recessive gene.
Don't confuse the lack of pigmentation in part of the flower with a genetically white recessive plant which cannot produce any pigment in the petals. Genes such as that for haft markings, plicatas, amoenas, neglectas simply affect the distribution of the pigment, not the absolute presence or absence of pigment. Also, keep in mind that genetically the plicata genes and white recessive genes can work together to produce purer whites as has been discussed before in this list. An example is 'Laced Cotton'.
White is recessive to blue so I should get white when I cross sib from this cross.
