Since I was forced to mess around with the archives to fix the problem
with message bodies disappearing in iris-photos (it was a problem with
Yahoo!'s messages violating standards, so it cut everythinge except for
attachments), I saw that there are some things I'd like to change in the
archives.

One I've already done for this month:  I've removed the extra text that
shows up at the top of each message.  Other simple things that I thought
of doing are:

   . Adding a 'search all years' button on the search page, so you don't
     have to go through and click each individual year

   . Adding a search box at the top of each message and monthly listing
     with a link to the search page.

Things that I'm not sure about doing, but would like input on:

   . Is it worth trying to remove the extra formatting that Yahoo!

   . Is it worth trying to redesign the archives to look 'prettier'?

     What do you think?

I also plan to move the archives to an SQL-based search mechanism instead
of the old, kludged together form that we have now.  But that should be
transparent to you and only simplifies my life (and should make searches
faster).

What other things would you like to see?
