For the first time, seeds from a TB cross started to germinate while still in the burrito.
Mary Lou, they were seeds that you sent me - IMMORTALITY X BETTY DUNN. About half of the 17 had started to sprout after about 3 months in the fridge. I put them outdoors in a 4 inch germination pot, but will bring them onto the sun porch if it starts getting really cold at night. So far, it's been staying above freezing, but lots of frost.
There were 11 post freeze/drought pods that contained seeds here this year. All seeds from 2 crosses rotted while in the fridge. One, my notes say "bad pollen"; the other the pod was missing part of its outer covering, & seeds on that side of the pod didn't develop at all.
I'm thrilled that most of the others seem ok - was a little worried that in spite of trying to make seeds, the plants might have been so stressed that none of the seeds would be viable.
Of course, none have germinated, so still too soon to be sure!Based on what some of the rest of you have reported, I'm going to leave the burritos in the fridge at least one more month (total of 4 months).
