Betty,
There is a lot of somewhat cryptic coding of
information in the 1939 AIS Checklist.
"TB-M-B" in the listing for Buechley Giant means that
the iris in question is tall-bearded=TB , blooms
during midseason=M, and is a blue self=B in color and
pattern.
The key to the color and pattern codes is printed on
p.10 of the 1939 Checklist.
