Re: RE:HIST -Buechley Iris??

One should note that the color classification codes
were designed to use at a color-class Iris show. They
are fairly broad in their meaning. In otherwords
overall the flower may be blue that doesn't mean it
was as pure a color as we have in modern selfs. They
did not note the haft marks which could be
considerable or beard color or a number of other
traits that were ignored for this purpose. On many 39
checklist entries there are references given at the
end which have greater depth of description if one can
find the reference.
