Thanks, Linda!  I'll give it a try.  They've been messing up bad on the vinyl
shades I use for seedling tags.  I've been contemplating exercising my
pitching arm.


I really hated the idea of giving them up, since I have metal markers that
have been in place since 2005 without fading even a little.

I hate it when paint pens act up - the tip gets saturated with dry
aint, then the paint won't flow.  Either it won't flow at all or it
uts out big globs of paint.
I've tried rinsing the tip off with hot water, then wiping it dry, which
orks a little bit.  But this year, for the first time, some of the
inyl siding labels weathered off completely.  Most of them are still
retty much like they were when I first put them out a year or so ago,
hich makes me think the paint on some may have been diluted just enough
ot to hold up.
I bought some nail polish remover (=acetone without additives) to clean
abels for re-use and tried wiping a balky paint pen tip with the paper
owel saturated with acetone.  It seems to have worked really well.
ight want to dab some on the tip right before putting the cap back on
o let it soak some.
Thought I'd share this with others who may be battling balky paint pens,
ee if any of the rest of you have come up with other solutions.
