I'll tell you one thing NOT to do with Alfalfa pellets:  don't use them in
potting soil.  A couple years ago I was so impressed with what they did in
the garden that I thought I'd try the pellets in soil I was using to pot
house plants...bad idea!  It apparently expanded as water was added, then
packed so tight that no airways were left.  The whole wound up a
sour-smelling mess!
