My main use for the checklists is to look for varieties that are later
bloomers (so they will be more likely to bloom here) and that are taller than
average (because that's what I like).  I also hunt for introductions by
particular hybridizers who I think live in parts of the country compatible
with my climate.

My main use, though, is looking up descriptions of iris I have which I have
not seen bloom, so I can try to imagine what they look like (winter
entertainment).
