JIM:  MATRIX ordinarily has very big, very wide flowers of good substance.
 The coloring was not outstanding.  I chose it from some two or three dozen
selected seedlings of Earl Hall, as the only one to introduce.  It reblooms
rather on the late side here. It is a splendid parent.  Whatever happened,
your bloom was atypical. Better luck next year, if you keep it.  It was good
to hear your news, and I congratulate you on NOT FOLLOWING YOUR NEIGHBOR'S
