Me, I squish them and smear their ruined carcasses on the plant stems as a
warning to others of their ilk. If there were pikes tiny enough, I'd pinch
off the beetles' little heads and post them around the rhizomes.
They ate up my bean plants this summer, leaving - get this - an adjacent
stand of cucumbers completely untouched.
