Cucumber Beatles

I don't know why, but the Cucumber Beatles tend to get on things other
than Cucumbers. In the fall, they appear to be attracted by bright colors,
thus the attacks on Reblooming Irises.
As for control, if smearing the dead bugs on the stems acts as a
deterrent, then go for it. It is better than killing the Bees.
