Hi Rob, and welcome to the Iris-L. You've come to the right place for
advice... because Lord knows we're full of it <VBG>
Japanese Iris are a favorite of mine so I'll step up to the plate and offer
some advice on sourcing..
The most famous place - color catalog dealing almost exclusively with JI's -
is Ensata Gardens (9823 E. Michigan Ave., Galesburg, MI 49053... catalog =
$2)
But there are more and more places to find Japanese Irises each year:
Aitken's Salmon Creek Garden - 608 NY 119th St. , Vancouver, WA 98685 -
catalog $2... online catalog too: www.e-z.net/~aitken
Draycott Gardens, 16815 Falls Rd., Upperco, MD 21155 - catalog $1
There are others, but those above are some to get you going. And if you're
REALLY smooth, you'll join the Society for Japanese Iris - $3.50/year gets
you two copies of the SJI Review - Memberships to: Bob Bauer at the Ensata
address (this is a subscription cost... membership requires membership in
AIS first).
I grow daylilies too and find Japanese Iris to be a nice complement.
