Kathy,
I got the same message. It is entirely possible that they joined iris-l,
got the subscribers list, then dropped off and converted the list to an
individual address list. No big problem to do that.
They appear to be an Italian book dealer, but who knows, they could
masquerade as anybody.

It caused no problems for my mail server. I haven't seen any answers to
your Caribbean sites question yet so I don't think you missed anything.
