Several years ago, I wrote off in August or September for about a dozen
catalogs listed in the AIS bulletin, including a letter explaining that
I wanted the catalogs for winter reading and didn't mind if they sent me
the current year's no longer useable listing. One of them returned my
money, one or two others sent me a listing/catalog, but I never heard
from the others. So for a few dollars, I learned that wasn't a good
idea. I don't know how much AFTER the end of shipping season is a good
time to request catalogs.
