Re: Iris Cross-stitch

year we had only 5 blooms for out show. My son (12 yr) "claimed'  two of
these as his. Clubmember Kathryn Mohr ( active in Historic Iris ) mentored
him on proper grooming, hiding the spent bud stem,etc. When the judges came
around he was awarded a blue ribbon & was there to hear them RAVE about how
well the specomen was groomed! I, of course, got no awared, sopecial mention
or anything else. Just as well as now we/he has a 'nautical garden" -
Hopefully he's been suffuciently bitten to continue helping me now that I'll
be 50 & he just a teenager!  Thanks again for your messages & being on the
iris-L.I have gained so much more info as a beginner. Can't wait for spring &
