Downloading Pictures

With my stupidity showing, how do I download an iris photo to a 3 1/2 disc.
The screen keeps telling me that there is not enough room on the disc. The
photo is 4 x 6, with an Epsom scanner, and a Packard Bell pentium. I also
have Photoshop 4.0
I suspect that I have to somehow have to reduce the size of the picture.
Any help woulf be appreciated.
