Mark,
We grew I.unguicularis in New Mexico. It was on the southside of the
potting shed which got watered on a regular basis. It would start
blooming the end of February till the middle of April. We also had one
in the middle of the yard that got a lot of shade. It didn't increase
much and the bloom was very sparse. When I moved to Nebraska, a year ago
last July, I dug up both clumps and potted them. They are both still in
the pots, One inside the greenhouse the other sunk in the ground on the
south side of the greenhouse. The one outside came through last winter
in great shape(in -20 temps.), but neither bloomed for me this spring. I
wonder if it's because I disturbed them by digging them up, even tho I
potted them immediately?
