Kathy - The World of Iris published by AIS is a wonderful resource, but
I would also recommend rummaging around in the iris-list archives. A
lot of us are trying to learn how to play hybridizer and buried the more
experienced list members in questions about the subject. Lots of good
stuff there.

Everybody - Thanks for the discussion about rebloom categories and
thanks Rick for summarizing the bulletin article.

Is there enough information about these categories of rebloomers to
construct a Punnett['s?] square? Are half of the seedlings of
IMMORTALITY and SUMMER HOLIDAY everbloomers? Or does it look like there
are several genes at work here? Are they additive? Are there different
temperature thresholds/durations for different types of rebloomers
controlled by separate genes? (using the word 'gene' loosely here)

hard freezes all week - in the mid-teens here, killed my pepper plants
under two layers of Reemay, except for branches right on the ground.
Bracing for the 80's that we are bound to have before New Year and all
the ensuing iris damage.
Reminder - regional differences - always add your location to your
signature, especially if you are talking about growing irises. Think of
future newbies looking for help in the archives, as well as those of us
who can't remember from one message to the next.
